Health, Safety & Sustainability
At DELTATURK, we believe that,
- all our personnel and people affected by our operations should be able to go their homes and families safely at the end of each day,
- we should leave back a better state of status to environment, resources, society, community, etc. during and at the end of our operations,
- and these can be achieved when health, safety, environmental and social awareness & sustainability ideas become a way of life, not options.
We are aimed to execute all our operations according to these beliefs and very enthusiastically, try to pass these ideas to our entire business network.
For job-site health and safety;
- All incidents and injures are preventable and none is acceptable or tolerated.
- Operation Specific Health & Safety procedures should be prepared, implemented, communicated, enforced, monitored and revised (as required) strictly.
- If any incidents occur, it should be thoroughly investigated, recorded and future prevention solutions should be created for immediate implementation.
- Regulatory compliance and record keeping procedures should be followed strictly.
For environmental issues and sustainability;
- Operations should be conducted with environmental sensitivity and competence in order to protect employees, customers, community, society, environment, resources, ecology and habitat.
- Cost-effective methods and programs for pollution prevention, energy conservation, resource & waste management, recycle & material reuse should be identified, implemented, communicated, monitored and revised (as required).
- Cost effective methods to control and/or diminish emissions and effluents should be identified, implemented, communicated, monitored and revised (as required).
- All parties involved should be informed of sustainable design, aiming “green” structures to be constructed and operated, using resources efficiently and minimizing the negative impact on the environment and the end users.
- Sustainability checklists can be prepared to identify the benefits and opportunities using
- Value engineering (construction costs vs. life-cycle costs)
- Site selection (reduced environmental impact & reuse resources)
- Construction materials and methods review based on Conserve/Recycle/Reuse
- Availability and applicability of sustainable/green building systems
- Environmental recognition opportunities (LEED, ISO 14001)
- At all times, be ready and prepared to accept responsibility, maintain awareness and minimize adverse impacts from operations.
